About

What is this?

A repository of my Sky: Children of the Light headcanons. The motivation for building another subsection of my site came from a series of headcanon posts I made on Tumblr, which I realized I could easily adapt into a webpage.

Who made all the art here?

Me. They aren't watermarked, but if you do go around and share the images on this site, please give proper credit. If you don't I will be very sadge.

Who is the "Mesmerized Muse"?

On a sunny day within the Valley of Triumph, you step into a dilapidated studio nestled into the bottom of a cliffside. Inside, you see a lone spirit working away on something — what exactly they're working on is obscured from your view. They are in deep concentration and don't immediately notice you.

Various visual projects — presumably the spirit's — are strewn about the studio. Standing out amongst the rest, however, is a relatively plain book sitting on a counter between you and the spirit. You approach and inquire about the book.

The spirit jumps and looks your way. Their expression is at first irritated, though they seem to calm down remembering the last time they had a visitor. They return to their work, now multitasking. "That there is my lore book." They explain, their voice sounding ever so slightly weary. Flipping through its pages, you note the book is filled with handwritten notes and sketches. You inquire about the book's purpose.

"When I was alive I already had poor memory. Being between worlds for hundreds of years hasn't helped my case. The book has been somewhat helpful in getting my hold on this world back." Stopping briefly on one of the pages, you quickly read through and notice something off about their writing. Mantas aren't allergic to water. You point out the discrepancy.

"... Really? I suppose it has been a while since I've seen the coast but..." They scratch their head, then wave their hand away as to shoo off a thought. "I'll erase that entry in the book." You ask the spirit, if they wanted a reality rundown, why they don't just go to the Vault of Knowledge for that instead. The spirit seems to perk up.

"Ah! A few of the things I remember really clearly is that they don't let just anyone inside the Vault. And even if I could go inside... It's a long and dangerous trip."

(Skip to here if you don't want to read everything above.) Okay, flowery language section over! The Mesmerized Muse (whose name I may shorten to MMuse) is a self-insert character I invented to own my theoretical "Sky lore book", which contains my Sky headcanons. I thought about naming this section of my site just "The Sky Lore Book", but it sounded way too official and boring. "Mufo's Lore Book" was a second option which would have matched the URL for my Sky side blog on Tumblr (mufos-photo-album) but it didn't feel right either. It would imply Mufotsuki owns a lore book, and I mean, why would she?

MMuse's writing is supposed to make sense, though if there's something you don't agree with, you can chalk it up to their poor memory of the world.
