Aquatic Psion farms make use of vertical space by stringing together multiple floating planters, or even whole floating farm plots. The planters are strung together with mesh tunnels which serve to protect the crops growing inside while allowing for the circulation of water. Crops are accessed using zippers in the mesh. To keep floating farms from washing away from the current, the arrangement is either weighted down at the bottom, or screwed right into the sea floor.

Terrestrial farm plots do exist, however they are fewer in number; only grow crops needed for materials and technology, but not food; and tend to favor crops that grow nearby water. When possible, most terrestrial farms have trenches with chest-deep water, which allows Psions to work without needed specialized equipment.
