Overview

(What do I say about a page that's basically a shrine for a genre of color?)

When I first thought of making this page, I wasn't nearly expecting how oceanic it'd turn out looking, but it makes sense given this page's initial inspirations.

Dinoflagellates, particularly Noctiluca scintillans, is a small eukaryotic organism that exhibits biolumenscence when agitated or disturbed. These little guys are responsible for those photos of bright blue waves washing onto shore. If you haven't seen this thing before, look up 'biolumenescent water' and it'll bring up plenty of images capturing the otherwordly phenomenon.

When I came to know of this, I really wanted to be where these eukaryotes were and wade my hand around in the water to see it shimmer. In retrospect that'd probably be a bad idea — don't know what those microorganisms could do to you, but the aesthetic idea of it still clings to my brain. Even if I'm not waving my hands around in the water, I'd like to visit the beach on my own some day, in the solitude of night with glowing waves lapping at my feet.
