(The following section may change depending on how Saia's personality develops through RP.)

Much of Saia's personality was formed by what he had learned in space assimilation programs. He acts in ways that generally won't offend and holds some degree of respect for all people, though he is not free of resentment. His even temper gets rocky when made to face more volatile and extreme personalities, and Saia's usual politeness can turn passive aggressive if things don't go right. He has never devolved into outright aggression however, as Saia is very aware of his physicality and place in galactic society.

Outside of work Saia is very reserved. If he finds himself tagging along with others he often finds himself taking a more passive role unless he is made to assert himself (whether that be through his own effort or out of necessity). Talking about other Psions or Psions in general is somewhat of a touchy subject for Saia.

Generally, Saia likes warm temperatures, people who are cooperative in some form, and when difficult situations go right. Saia dislikes loud personalities of any kind, coarse substances like sand paper, and being served any kind of liquid beverage.

Saia's Phsyiology and its Challenges

As a member of the completely aquatic Psion species, having to work on land presents many challenges to Saia and others like him. The most important thing is that he is able to breathe on land, which is achieved by the contraption (an "external lung") strapped to the middle of his back (his entire back, not just the part that stands upright). It is a small tank of water which is mechanically oxygenated and fed into the breathing holes present on the sides of Saia's torso. Saia can briefly part ways with the external lung as long as the gills in his breathing holes are hydrated. Once they dry up, Saia suffocates.

Another challenge Psions face when working with terrestrial species is having to walk on land. In water (or in anti-gravity) there isn't much effort exerted in keeping oneself upright, but when forced onto land, many Psions lack the strength to hold themself up, let alone walk. Feelings of weakness are something that can be overcome with time, however almost all Psions find themselves having to use some sort of leg support to give their legs the extra reinforcement to walk on land.

The last major challenge Psions face in working with other species, regardless of their terrestrial-ness, is their language. Psions called themselves that for their ability to almost telepathically communicate with one another, though this communication comes in the form of imagery instead of sound. The Psion language is built in a way that's optimized for Psion levels of image recognition, which makes it hard for other species to understand let alone communicate in. To bridge this gap, some Psions thrust into space are made to learn how to project a "voice", which makes them more "normal" to talk to (if you can ignore the fact that someone else's voice is talking inside your head).
