Personality

Like most other gems, Opal had a generally kind demeanor. They had a heavy disliking of conflict, looking both to shield other gems from scorn, and avoiding scorn themselves. They always liked to be of help to others.

Life

Opal used to help fight the Lunarians, but it was decided that their position would change as their weak heart made them unfit for battle. This Opal accepted, though they continued to harbor insecurity about it as they saw combatting the Lunarians as the most respectable position to have. Opal's new position involved the production of silica, a solution made from mineral remains and water that could be used to repair other gems. As such, Opal spent much of their time harvesting undeveloped gems from the Shore of Nascency.

Death

On the day Opal was taken to the moon, they were searching for gems in the sands of the Shore of Nascency, as usual. A sunspot appeared, and with the absence of other gems to tell them otherwise, they sought to take on the Lunarians alone to prove themself worthy of fighting again. It was not a battle they could win. The first sling of arrows took one of their eyes, and when they had just begun to escape, a second sling split their body in two. By the time other gems arrived, the Lunarians had already taken half of Opal, leaving behind their upper body.
