About

"The world lies in waiting."

When Mufotsuki was first born from the sky, she fell upon the dirt of the Golden Wasteland. While most newborn skychildren do not survive there for very long, Mufo was taken into the Vault of Knowledge by a group of patrolling soldiers. Inside, she was raised by the spirits taking refuge from a war way before her time, and the mages who maintained the Vault.

For many years, the confines of the Vault was enough for Mufo. However, as she grew older and came to understand the tales of the world outside, she yearned to see what lied beyond the Vault's doors. The first time she asked to leave however, her request was shot down. Despite her ambition, she was still sheltered and feeble-bodied.

Mufotsuki was not, however, a quitter. After a years long campaign of pulling at other's heartstrings, she convinced her caretakers to let her go under one stipulation. She would be allowed to explore as much as she wanted, but only if she brought back the memories of the spirits within the Vault. In the throes of war, everyone had something they needed to leave behind — belongings, homes, family members, and the like. If those things weren't in the Vault, they were likely still out there, in the world beyond. This agreement was also structured so that Mufotsuki must return to the Vault eventually, though Mufotsuki was never intent on leaving forever in the first place.

Since then, Mufotsuki carried out her little "quest" while also taking the scenic route, making every trip count. Somewhere along her travels, she encountered another sky child named Piripu. Despite being a similar age to Mufotsuki, he seemed much more unfamiliar with the world than she was. Mufotsuki took him along on her expeditions, and since then, they've become what many consider to be best friends.
