About Kobuyi / About Ibalo / Artworks

Kobuyi mainly gets their business from shipping supplies across the Kingdom, mainly for those who wish to keep their operations under wraps. They mainly do it for the money, but they also do it to steal a small portion of their client's shipments if it suits them. If they need something and their usual clients don't have it, Kobuyi is also the kind of person to go steal things from others.

Personality-wise, Kobuyi tries to present themself as a fun, sociable fellow. They inherently like to joke around with a somewhat carefree attitude, however this aspect is turned up to 10 when around the general public. Given their shady actions, they find putting up this curtain buys them leverage with people who would otherwise turn their back on them. Most people never suspect the charming one to be a criminal!

For those who are down at the same level as Kobuyi, their chill demeanor frequently switches on and off. Jokes and banter get regularly dispersed in their conversation, especially when things get heated. They think of many of their relationships as transactional, and while they believe in "give and take" they also do not believe in fair trades. If they can get something out of the other party that is greater than the effort they have to put in, they will take advantage of that.

Other notes:

• Kobuyi's early life was somewhat troubled.
• They've tried out a few hobbies, but none of them have stuck so far.
• Kobuyi sings to Ibalo. Whether or not this is actual singing or like trying to imitate whale song is up to your interpretation.
• Kobuyi's appearance is based on my friend's Sky lineage AU.
• Kobuyi comes from a lineage of miners and divers, which is what earned them the nickname "cavediver".

Ibalo is Kobuyi's trusty pet manta. They've had him since they were a tweenager, and the two are always within proximity of each other. Kobuyi mostly uses him as a mount, though he is also used for carrying Kobu's personal cargo and scouting.

Ibalo is quite intelligent, capable of recognizing his own name and carrying out some impressive aerial commands.
