Akio does whatever makes him feel good or fulfilled, making him lack any immediate plans in life. In his time drifting, it has exposed him to many subjects that he otherwise wouldn't have been interested in, lending him a rather random (maybe useful) pool of knowledge.

Having had to deal with various personalities, Akio tends to act in ways to protect himself. Namely, he plays himself to be a 'pretty idiot' around people he'd like to avoid. The pretty idiot act was also something he picked up so he could freely explore his interests without being questioned as to why he isn't doing something better.

When presenting himself normally, Akio is quite amicable. Because he doesn't have very strong roots, he's open to the idea of making friends where he can. He doesn't take himself very seriously and prefers to not talk about his own problems.

Powers and Abilities

Crystalline Body

Parts of Akio's body (mainly his limbs) have been replaced with a semi-inorganic compound, giving them a kind of crystalline structure. This gives him a higher resolve and higher pain threshold. A lack of veins in the traditional sense also means he doesn't bleed out when these parts are injured.

This physiology can be somewhat disadvantageous, as where in some situations people get scars, entire limbs could break off for Akio. If he can get a hold of a lost body part, Akio can reattach it through crystallization. This process gets messier the less intact the pieces are.

Crystal Manipulaton

By maintaining contact with a surface, Akio is able to create crystalline structures. He is able to create large organic forms within a matter of seconds, but more constrolled structures will take more time and concentration.

Because the processes in which Akio uses to regenerate his body are the same as the ones which he uses to generate crystals, use of this power has some side effects. Uncontrolled use of this power causes extra crystals to form along his limbs, and overuse of this power causes his crystalline body parts to weaken.

Gun and Chisel Knife Handling

While the ability to generate crystals is likely enough to fend off attackers, Akio hasn't been using his powers this way until arriving in Olympus. He's gotten comfortable using a hand gun he purchased some years ago, alongside a chisel-like tool which he usually uses to chop off bits of overgrown crystal.
